If hamlet went to NOva high school...
Why are they all looking at me? Just because my mother is a whore, who is married to my rat of an uncle doesn’t mean I am like them. I hate this school! Why are they all judging me? It’s a miracle that I found a few good friends here. Can I even make it to the cafeteria without a judgemental glare? It’s such a shame I don’t have class with Horatio. To skip, or not to skip? That is the question.
-“Hamlet, could you pay at least a little attention?”- Ms Gligorova said to me.
-“I’ll pay attention next time, I promise.”
Well, weren’t those just a bunch of empty words? Doesn’t she get it? Doesn’t anyone get it? I don’t want to be here, or at home, or anywhere for that matter! I wish I was someone else! I wish I was a Shakespearian character living in a different time where one could easily get away with murdering a cunning uncle.
Well, I have Drama now. I am better than all of them of course, even Ms Obradovich said so. She is announcing what our new play will be. I hope it’s a Shakespearean one.
-“Hello everyone- said Ms Obradovich. – Today for the first time ever I will let a student write and direct a play all by himself. Sorry, ladies. It’s a he. No offence, but he is the most talented out of all of you. Yes, I’m talking about you, Hamlet.”
- “I will be honoured.”
Yes, this is perfect. I’ve had my suspicions of my uncle. He must have killed my father, however I lack proof. But now I have the perfect opportunity to capture his conscience. I will write a play in which one brother kills another in order to marry his sister-in-law. I will see his reaction during the play and finally have my proof. Yes, I will name it “The Mousetrap” and capture myself a rat.
